A while back I finally picked up the much hyped Sinful Colors Cinderella, but I hadn't found a chance to use it in a manicure yet! I finally sat down the other night and had no firm ideas for what to paint on my nails, but I knew I wanted to incorporate Cinderella finally!
I started with a coat of Nicole by OPI in "Baby" Blue as underwear, then painted on a coat of Sinful Colors in Cinderella. Then I looked all around my nail painting station (grandiose euphemism for the top of my Helmer drawers) for inspiration, and saw my flat round studs! Then the inspiration came easy - a ruffian made of the studs. A few minutes later I was in business and pretty darn pleased about how the spur of the moment mani turned out! I would definitely try this out again with other colours. I think it's a great way to showcase a nail polish that has a cool and unique colour or finish without covering it up with nail art, but still incorporating some "extra" details.
Unfortunately slightly cloudy photographing conditions didn't do an awesome job of showing the pink micro-flakies in this polish, but trust me, it looks even more awesome in real life!

NOTD Dec 24/12 - icy winter blues gradient
Just a simple winter blues gradient! It has a tiny blue flakies topcoat over it to make it look extra icy cold! I love how it turned out. :)
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White On, with Nicole by OPI "Baby" Blue sponged on and Revlon Scented Polish in Colada Fizz on top!

NOTD Dec 13/12 - Christmas presents
This is one of my favourite Christmas manis so far! Presents had been in my mind for a while but I wasn't sure how I wanted to execute them so I kept putting them off. I finally figured out how I was going to do it, and alternated several holiday appropriate colours and glitters. They are so cute!
The colours I used were Sinful Colors Envy, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White On, Sally Hansen CSM in Gilty Pleasure, Nicole by OPI Positive Energy, Essence Glamorous Life, and various striper polishes and glitters. Honestly, too many to list!

NOTD Sep 15/12 - vertical dots and glitter tips!
Sometimes I get a random idea for an abstract nail design that I haven't seen anywhere (to my knowledge anyways, if this design has already been done by someone, I either haven't seen it or I have but it went straight to my subconscious mind). When I do, they either turn out NOTHING like what I pictured in my head, or really cool. In this case, I think it falls into the really cool category!
The design itself is simple. Vertical dots on the nails, in alternating colours, with different sized dots and different length rows. And then glitter on the tips. I wouldn't mind trying out other colour combos, but I love how this looks the first time around!
The blue dots are Nicole by OPI in "Baby" Blue, the pink dots are Revlon Pink Lingerie, and the silver glitter is LA Girl Glitter Addict in Explosion.

NOTD Aug 3/12 - lace, bows and pearls
This one's really girly and takes full advantage of the awesome pastels and candy-feminine trends we've been seeing so much of lately. I love how these turned out, so delicate and girly! I <3 pastels... I really do.
I painted my nails with Revlon Minted (thumb and ring fingers) and Barielle Sailor's Delight (index, middle and pinky fingers). Then I added dots of white in pearl strand patterns on the pink nails with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White On, and in half moons on the mint nails. I also added dots of white along the edge of the half moons to create a scalloped edge, then filled in the centre of those with smaller dots of the mint shade. Then I dabbed Nicole by OPI in You're a Star (iridescent white) on top of the pearls to "pearlize" them. Next, I painted on the shape of the bows in white, then covered it with the pink shade, and lastly painted the outlines in black and added top coat!

NOTD July 2/12 - starry sky
First of all, I have to say a big happy belated Canada Day! <3 <3
Next up, a new mani finally! I haven't been feeling all that inspired when it came to my nails lately, any nail art I was doing was for sets for my Etsy. So when I'm having phases like that I do the sensible thing and use polishes that don't get a lot of love with nail art. My manis for the last week or two have been using glitter polishes that I haven't used in a while. It's good to give them some love too!
But the other night I finally had a strike of inspiration for some nail art! I call these ones "starry sky" because well, that's what they look like! Sort of like galaxy nails, but more like what they'd look like from here on Earth! I like how they turned out, very sparkly and kind of ethereal!
Colours used:
Sally Hansen CSM in Navy Baby - a shimmery deep navy, did one coat as background
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Deep Blue Sea - pictured above, a medium blue foil, added one coat on top of the navy blue
Nicole by OPI in You're A Star - shimmery, pearly white, drew on crosses and dots for stars diagonally across each nail
White striper polish - added accents to some of the stars
Wet n Wild Wild Shine in Kaleidoscope - silver and iridescent glitter in clear base, swiped it over the stars concentrating on the middle of the "galaxy" and thinning the glitter on the edges
Then added top coat and voila, all done!
Hope you like!
